Salt Revive, the salt therapy health centre in Beverley, opened in 2018 after it helped co-founder Clare to turn her own health around.

‘Being an asthma sufferer meant that every time I caught a simple cold, it would always develop into a more serious chest infection which would leave me requiring steroids, antibiotics and a breathless week in bed’.

Clare suffered from 5, 6, sometimes 7 infections a year and they were becoming more frequent and more severe until, in 2017, salt therapy was recommended to her.

‘My initial reaction was ‘’no thanks, that’s not my type of thing, how on earth is that going to help me!’’

I’m so glad I was talked into going along and trying it out because that was the huge turning point in my life which led to me taking charge of my lung health and my husband and I venturing into owning our own business, something I never thought I’d do!

Since we opened almost 5 years ago, I haven’t suffered from 1 chest infection, and we’ve helped to improve countless customers quality of life (their words!) and have even helped to eliminate hospital admissions for some of them.

But how does it work?

You may have used a saline solution up your nose for a blocked nose or you may have put salt in your bath to help ease aching muscles?
