How Help to Grow can take your business to the next level

The Help to Grow Management programme has been highly praised by participants across a diverse range of sectors.
The 12-week programme – 90% of which is funded by the Government leaving a cost of only £750 – supports businesses to be more resilient to external challenges, empower innovation and increase productivity through the development of detailed growth plans and management strategies. It consists of online learning and face-to-face sessions, offering participants valuable insights into areas such as leadership, innovation, digital adoption, business resilience, sustainability and financial management.
Aimed at SME business owners, leaders or senior managers from all sectors, it is facilitated by experienced experts from accredited business schools and designed to be undertaken alongside full-time work.
One such business that has taken advantage of the funded Help to Grow Management Programme is Agrimin. Callum Harvey, their Technical Manager had this to say:
“I joined the Help to Grow management programme to help me with my management skills. We didn’t have any specific challenges to address as the business is growing faster than we can keep pace with, so we needed to make sure we were clear on our plan going forward.
It will help us grow the business by allowing us to be more strategic in how we operate, whether it be in finance or person management, and put Agrimin in a stronger position.”
Callum enthused “The content and the programme have all been really useful, so much so that we’re considering sending another member of the senior management team onto the course in September.
It has been really flexible, roughly a few hours a week, which works well for us around other commitments. Sessions are spaced out and are mainly online, so very easy to slot in around other things.
The mentoring has been positive for Agrimin and me personally, as I have been paired with someone outside of my industry and that has given me knowledge I didn’t have around supply chains. My mentor is very approachable and has asked a lot of thought-provoking questions about the business and provided me with a lot of answers. He is a great sounding board.”
Callum commended the course for numerous reasons but mainly because it makes you think more about your business, not just the day-to-day operations but from a more strategic point of view and forces you to challenge yourself.
Callum concludes “You have got to get outside of your comfort zone to be able to grow your business”.
