When we were forced to work from home back in 2020 Stewart was very sceptical about whether this would work, but then after spending the several months working from home the inevitable decision had to be made to either continue working from home or to return to office working, much to our surprise the answer was neither and we agreed on an alternative option of hybrid working, as the benefits to everyone throughout the organisation far outweighed the drawbacks.

Majors now fully embraces hybrid working, a blend of remote and in-office work, as it offers various advantages that benefit everyone. Firstly, it has provided flexibility, allowing individuals to better balance their personal and professional lives therefore improving work-life balance.

Another key benefit we have experienced of hybrid working is increased productivity. Many employees are actually more productive having been given the freedom to work remotely. Removing the distractions of the office environment, if any of you have met Stewart you will know he can talk for England, and being able to tailor their work environment to suit their preferences has led to higher levels of focus and efficiency. We believe offering such flexible working has contributed to staff retention and attracting higher quality individuals.

Also we believe it has enhanced collaboration and communication within our team. By offering a mix of in-person and virtual interactions, we can leverage the best of both worlds. Our in-person meetings have allowed for more personalised connections and spontaneous brainstorming sessions, while virtual collaboration tools enable seamless communication among remote team members. This blend has fostered creativity, innovation, and camaraderie among colleagues, despite physical distance.
