A visit to Figflex Offices, a sleek business space in the heart of the City

Guest Editorial •  Summer 2022

Jo from Y&H paid a visit to FigFlex Offices, an office space facility based off Ferensway in Hull, to chat with Gary Finch, the Building and Centre Manager, about why this is the perfect space for small and medium sized businesses to grow. As we entered, we met with a sleek new seated reception area that perfectly greets their impressive office suites.

Sitting at the centre’s core is a large, open communal breakout and kitchen area, laced with an informal decor, comfy seating, and a big screen TV – ideal for a change of scenery or grabbing some time away from your computer screen. We grabbed a cup of their complimentary coffee, logged onto the fast Wi-Fi and had a chat.

Gary, tell us about FigFlex and what our readers need to know about this fabulous facility.

We have taken a landmark building in the city’s centre and rebuilt it, as if it is brand new. We started from scratch, completely gutting the building and installing new walls, ceilings, flooring, and the latest VRF air conditioning system. We offer serviced offices which can accommodate from one to nine workstations. What’s great for businesses is that we can provide the ability of them to scale up or down to meet their needs. Each serviced office has various benefits, including a kitchen area, all bills, and business grade internet connectivity. We also offer a co-working or hot desking space for up to 24 people, which has been very popular for those based at home since the pandemic and wanting to escape any family distractions. We offer desk space, complimentary tea and coffee and use of all our great break out areas.

Sounds great. Can businesses also book meeting rooms?

We offer pre-bookable meeting rooms catering to private one-to-one discussions, larger meetings, and roundtable events. Again, we provide complimentary tea and coffee, and our meeting spaces include Wi-Fi I and the latest click-share technology. Meeting rooms are available to any business; they just need to enquire to0 book.

In your view, what makes FigFlex unique compared to other facilities?

I think it’s our location. Whichever way you travel, we’re set up to accommodate all modes of transport. Hull Paragon Interchange is on the doorstep, offering easy access to trains and buses. We have a secure bike lock-up at the rear of the building with shower facilities and ample car parking directly behind the building. Many of our customers love the advantage of being so central and close to the main shopping centres in Hull, theatres, bars, restaurants, and cinemas.

Are there any other perks a small business might benefit from?

A physical presence isn’t all we offer. We provide a virtual office service to support small businesses in their start-up phase or coming to the area with a Hull-based postal address, where they can register their business at Companies House also. Our ethos is about helping businesses grow, and we offer additional advice and guidance on anything from local marketing to grant applications and business funding. It is all part of our friendly service!
