Delivering patient ‘WISHHES’

The team at Y&H was delighted to have selected local organisation WISHH as our Charity Focus for this edition. Based from Castle Hill Hospital in Cottingham, WISHH stands for Working Independently to Support Hull Hospitals.

As an independent charitable trust, they fundraise and manage donations for the benefit of patients and visitors at Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital. A small but perfectly formed and highly effective team are dedicated to making every penny count and a real impact made on our region’s main hospitals. To date, the difference they have made is huge and well-received. Children can now visit the hospital virtually to remove the uncertainty of what the hospital can be like for young people thanks to a donation of Virtual Reality headsets from Skirlaugh RLFC, and patients have access to iPads during their stay thanks to a donation from KCOM are just a few examples of their work.

Get involved

The support of local businesses can help to provide additional specialist equipment, research, support services, as well as aid the transformation of spaces within the hospitals for patient and visitor comfort alike.
