Record numbers attend The Business Culture Hull Event

Guest Editorial •  Spring 2023

The Business Culture Hull was delighted to have recently held its first open networking and speaker event since 2020, attended by record numbers of over 120 businesspeople at the new Fix Flex offices in Hull City Centre.

The event, designed to help and support our members and local businesses, included keynote speeches from Hull-based Founder and CEO of Trans2Performance, Martin Johnson and former professional boxer Tommy Coyle, and valuable time for local businesspeople to network and collaborate. Sponsored by FI Real Estate, the event was also supported by Kevin Greene photography for images, Andy Crozier for timelapse, and students from Wilberforce College for video production.

Held from one of our member venues, the newly refurbished Fig Flex office building on Ferensway, both speakers drew on their experience to help inspire and galvanise businesses in Hull. Martin shared his experience and insight on organisational culture and human performance. Tommy gave an emotional speech, covering his personal challenges and how business and supporting the local community via his boxing academy and business health club drive him forward.

Martin Johnson, CEO of Trans2Performance commented; “It was fantastic to be speaking again at a Business Culture Hull event. The record numbers attending is a testament to the importance of face-to-face events and desire among the business community to meet up and share insights.”

Tony Bowler who founded The Business Culture Hull in 2016 said; “We’d like to thank our members FigFlex for hosting, and our speakers Martin and Tommy for helping us create this vibrant our most well-attended event to date. It was fantastic to see so many of our members plus new faces coming together again. We look forward to releasing further events throughout the year.”
